Roni Shitrit, Violin

Described as “an incredible young artist with a strong musical voice that is not to

Canadian debut with us is just the start of her rise to fame (WSO, Franz),” Israeli
violinist Roni Shitrit has
established herself as a force to be reckoned with.
Roni made her debut at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in 2023, following her winning
prize in the New York International Artist Association competition. She has won first
prize in the MTNA Young
Artist National Competition, first prize and a special prize in the Moscow International
Online Competition, first prize at the Bruno Frey Music Prize in Germany, first prize
at the UNCSA Concerto Competition, and second prizes in the Jefferson Competition
and LaGrange Concerto Competition in theU.S. Roni has given many solo recitals in
Israel, Germany, and the U.S. and has performed as a soloist in Italy,
Canada, and the U.S.
An avid chamber musician, Roni has collaborated with renowned artists such as François
Benda, Ida Bieler, Jan Vogler, Peter Wiley, Tatjana Masurenko, the Verona Quartet,
and members of the Fauré Quartet. She has participated in masterclasses with world-renowned
violinists such as Benjamin Schmid, Dora Schwarzberg, Grigory Kalinovsky, Hagai Shaham,
Itzhak Rashkovsky, Michael Kopelman, Mihaela
Martin, Miriam Fried, and others.
As an orchestral player, she was invited to play concertmaster for Swan Lake with the NC ballet. She also has held fellowship positions with the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle and Symphony in C where she serves as a principal second . Additionally, she was a member of the Young Israeli Philharmonic and served as concertmaster of the UNCSA, Juilliard and SBU orchestras.
Roni sees great importance in keeping the legacy of her teachers and help the next generation develop high technical and musical skills. She was part of the Vivaldi program under the training of Ida bieler and currently she is a TA at Stony Brook University were she is teaching violin for undergraduate students.
She has participated in various festivals and programs, including the David Goldman Chamber Music Program for Outstanding Young Musicians, the Huberman Program, the Keshet Eilon Festival, the Ochsenhausen Festival in Germany, and the Ilona Feher Violin Program.
Embarking on her musical journey at the young age of five, she studied under Oscar
Shraiberman at the Ramla Conservatory. Following high school, she completed a year
of voluntary national service, working with children on the autism spectrum, using
music and rhythm to help them develop creative ways of
communication.
Roni is currently pursuing a DMA at Stony Brook University under the guidance of Jennifer Frautschi. She did her Master of Music degree at Juilliard, studying with Professors Li Lin and Sheryl Staples and earned her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts under the tutelage of Prof. Ida Bieler.She is grateful to be supported by the American-Israeli Cultural Foundation with an Exceptional Distinction Scholarships and the Ronen Foundation.
She performs on a Nicolo Gagliano violin, Naples, c1780 "Ex-Mischakoff," which is on loan from the Ryuji Ueno Foundation and Rare Violins in Consortium.
