Dante Tramontin, Bass

Dante Tramontin de Paula is a Brazilian double bassist and doctoral student at Stony
Brook University, where he studies with Nina Bernat. He completed his Master’s degree
in double bass performance at Penn State University under the guidance of Patricia
Weitzel, where he also served as a Teaching Assistant for the double bass studio.
Dante earned his Bachelor’s
degree in double bass from São Paulo State University. He is active as an orchestral
and chamber musician and has performed with professional ensembles in Brazil, including
the Orquestra Experimental de Repertório, and in the United States with the Pennsylvania
Chamber Orchestra.
In addition to his performance career, Dante is actively involved in teaching and
mentoring
young musicians. His interests include orchestral repertoire, chamber music, and bass
pedagogy, and he is committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive learning
environment
for students.
