2025 CEWIT High School Hackathon

The Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) team will host the second annual high school hackathon on Thursday, April 10, 2025. This year, CEWIT will host student teams form thirteen Long Island schools as they collaborate on themed projects and gain hands-on experience in a faced-paced competition.

Students will work together in teams of four in a race against the clock to develop a new project from the ground up and compete with fellow students for prizes.

  Thursday, April 10, 2025. The event is held in-person at the CEWIT building at Stony Brook Research and Development Park. The event will last from 9am to 4pm.

• I've never participated in a hackathon before. How do I get started?
  The CEWIT team will create a series of video walkthroughs on using CodeHS and will provide resources for all of the teams. Stay tuned for the upcoming tutorials.
• Will help be available if my team and I are stuck on a project?
  Yes, mentors and chaperones will be available to assist you and your team throughout the hackathon.
• Will there be food at the event?
  Yes, CEWIT will provide breakfast and lunch during the event. If you have any food allergies, please let your teachers know and we will try to accommodate all allergies/preferences.
• Wil there be prize categories?
  Yes, the prizes will be announced at the event.
