Rajiv Lajmi, MS, MBA, BCom

Rajiv LajmiProfessor Rajiv Lajmi serves as the Chair of the Applied Health Informatics department in the School of Health Professions. Prior to joining Stony Brook, he spent more than 20 years in the healthcare, manufacturing, nonprofit and consulting industries, serving in technology and operations leadership, program management and application development roles.

In healthcare, he previously managed the Eagles Eye Mobile, an award-winning vision care program of the Philadelphia Eagles. Later, he led technology initiatives at Stony Brook Medicine involving their EMR system, patient portal and population health platform. He has also held consulting and IT leadership roles at global organizations such as PwC, IDS Scheer (now Software AG), and Eppendorf, where he was heavily engaged in technology advisory, digital transformation, and system deployment and support activities.

Professor Lajmi's teaching and consulting focus on technology-related strategic services (e.g., system selections, implementation planning, use of emerging/AI technologies), project and change management, and process improvement.

He holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (MS, Nonprofit Leadership), Drexel University (MBA, Management Information Systems) and the University of Mumbai (BCom, Accounting).
