governance for the fraternity and sorority community Order of Omega (OOO) - Chi Kappa ChapterPresident: Madison Cinalli, madison.cinalli@stonybrook.edu Organization Email: orderofomega.chikappa@gmail.com Purpose: To recognize those fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment; to unite outstanding fraternity men and women to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate fraternity affairs; to bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution’s fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness; to help create an atmosphere where ideas and issues can be discussed openly across greek lines and to help work out solutions. Governing Sub-Councils:College Panhellenic (CPH)President: Arleth Acevado, arleth.acevedo@stonybrook.edu Organization Email: sbunpc@gmail.com Purpose: The purpose of the College Panhellenic is to advance the three women's organizations of the National Panhellenic Conference and their commitment to personal growth here at Stony Brook University. By uniting the ideologies of all organizations under NPC, women can learn to network and collectively work together to fulfill a greater purpose than themselves. For individual chapters of universities, this can be done by conducting education. philanthropic and service-oriented events with all NPC organizations, as well as encouraging collaborations with the university and all other organizations. The empowerment and growth of women is a strong ideal of NPC that umbrellas our values of positive attitude, academic success, generosity, and the betterment of our local, national, and international community. Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC)President: Mikaeel Zohair, mikaeel.zohair@stonybrook.edu Organization Email: stonybrookifc@gmail.com Purpose: The purpose of the IFC (Inter-fraternity Council) shall be to provide a sovereign governance structure for its Member Fraternities, promote the interests of its Member Fraternities, promote the interests of men’s fraternities in general; discuss questions of mutual interest and present to its Member Fraternities such recommendations as the IFC deems appropriate; promote the interests of Stony Brook University; promote mutual cooperation between its Member Fraternities; promote mutual cooperation between the IFC, fellow governing councils, and student organizations at Stony Brook University; and promotes mutual cooperation between the IFC and Stony Brook University, its students, faculty, staff, and local community. undergraduate collegiate experience of the members from the National Pan-Hellenic
Council (NPHC) and Latino Greek Council (LGC) at Stony Brook University. Multicultural Fraternity and Sorority Council (MFSC)President: Vacant Organization Email: stonybrookmfsc@gmail.com Purpose: The purpose of “Multicultural Fraternity & Sorority Council” isto create community amongst multicultural fraternal organizations, to support member organizations’ philanthropic, community service, professional development, and recruitment efforts, to provide opportunities for interested students to learn about each member organization, to inform member organizations of professional development and service opportunities through a shared calendar, to coordinate service efforts to give back to the local community and to raise awareness about the multicultural affairs of the community. Professional Greek Council (PGC)President: Maesha Hossain, maesha.hossain@stonybrook.edu Organization Email: stonybrookpgc@gmail.com Purpose: A council comprising the Professional Greek organizations in order to improve community development and outreach. PGC will be holding philanthropy events that would benefit the entirety of the Stony Brook Student community.
