This March, come celebrate Women's History Month with an engaging calendar of events.


Women's History Month Celebration

Gender Equity March & Resource Fair

Wednesday, March 4th, 2026
12:00 PM - 2:30 PM 
Student Activities Center 
Outdoor Plaza and SAC Ballroom A


 
This event centers the 2026 Women’s History Month theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” and highlights collective action, leadership, and community engagement. The program will begin outside in the SAC Plaza with a keynote address by Chanel Lopez, Deputy Director of LGBTQ+ Affairs for the NYS Executive Chamber.

 In the event of inclement weather, all portions of this event will take place inside SAC Ballroom A.

Throughout March, Stony Brook University is  celebrating Women's History Month, an annual tradition that highlights the achievements of women, raises awareness against bias, and promotes social action for equality.

We invite you to participate in the many educational, social, and cultural programs that will be held throughout the month of March.

Women's History Month is coordinated by Diversity, Intercultural and Community Engagement and presented by the Women's History Month Committee.

The Women's History Month Committee meets weekly during the planning season and is comprised of members of the Stony Brook University community, including faculty, staff, and students.
