Summer Transition Program

Transition to college with success! Come along and join the Student Accessibility Support Center (SASC) as we welcome our incoming first-year students with disabilities to a 5-day, 4-night transition program from Sunday, July 12th, to July 16th, 2026. All at no cost!

The SASC Summer Transition Program is a week-long residential program designed for students with disabilities transitioning from high school to their first year at Stony Brook University, with the goal of providing them with the tools and resources necessary for a successful transition to college.

During this week, you will live on campus in one of the residential halls under the supervision of staff and participate in workshops during the day and social activities during the evening!

What You'll Learn

  • Time management & organization
  • Self-advocacy & executive functioning skills
  • Academic & social communication
  • Stress management & coping strategies
  • Campus resources & support services

Students will have the opportunity to become familiar with the SASC staff, the campus community, student life, and other SASC first-year students!
