An introduction to our vibrant campus community, highlighting school spirit, pride, and a strong sense of belonging. These 60-minute interactive sessions explore our core values and expectations around respect and civility. Through engaging activities and group discussions, 30–40 students build meaningful connections and a shared commitment to our inclusive community.

Professor Tell All

These academically-focused sessions offer transfer students an insightful preview of academic life and faculty expectations. Led by faculty members, these 45-minute, informal discussions connect with small groups of up to 30 transfer students, providing valuable tips and strategies for success while addressing questions about their academic transition.

SBU WOW

SBU WOW is a dynamic series of events designed to welcome new and returning Seawolves, offering exciting opportunities for involvement and community-building. These events provide a fantastic opportunity to introduce students to various departments, highlight available resources, and foster meaningful connections.

Staffed by faculty and staff, these information tents provide directions and answer questions about resources, schedules, and more.

University Welcome Convocation

The President and University leadership lead the official welcome, ushering new students into the Stony Brook University community.
