James J. DiCarlo, MD, PhD James J. DiCarlo, MD, PhD Jim DiCarlo is the Peter de Florez Professor of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Director of the MIT Siegel Family Quest for Intelligence. He previously served as Head of MIT’s Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences from 2012 to 2021. Since 2021, he has led the MIT Quest for Intelligence, where he and the leadership team are working to advance interdisciplinary research at the interface of natural and artificial intelligence. DiCarlo trained in biomedical engineering, medicine, systems neurophysiology and computing at Northwestern (BSE), Johns Hopkins (MD/PhD), and Baylor College of Medicine (Postdoc). |
