About Alphathon 2024

The Alphathon Quantitative Finance Competition, jointly organized by the Center for Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) at Stony Brook University and the Society of Quantitative Analysts (SQA), is a month-long virtual event that culminates in presentations at the Eagle Alpha Alternative Data Conference on October 9, 2024. The Eagle Alpha Alternative Data Conference is part of Data Week in New York City from October 7th to 11th.

Alphathon 2024 is dedicated to fostering innovation in quantitative finance by challenging participants to develop advanced forecasting solutions using the latest machine learning techniques and alternative datasets. The competition will emphasize the critical role of alternative data in macroeconomic strategies, a domain that has expanded significantly beyond hedge funds into the broader asset management spectrum.

In addition to alternative data from Eagle Alpha, participants will have access to ultra-high-frequency data provided by DataBento and QuantConnect allowing them to build alpha systems to the highest industry level precision.

The top 10-15 finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their groundbreaking projects at the Eagle Alpha conference, providing a platform for unparalleled exposure and networking.
