January 9, 2014 - Long Island Entrepreneur Debuts Solar Cooler at CES 
The solar-powered cooling technology was originally developed by Ryan McGann as an engineering student at Stony Brook University; now returning to renew his efforts through Solar Cool Technologies, a startup company of the University’s Clean Energy Business Incubator Program housed in the neighboring Advanced Energy Center. The cooler made its official debut at the world's largest consumer technology showcase this week and is one of a handful of products being introduced by Long Island-based companies at the much hyped event.

January 6, 2014 - Charmtech Labs to Exhibit at CES2014 
Housed in CEWIT’s Incubator, Charmtech Labs LLC was founded in 2010 by a group of computer science professors and Ph.D. students who set out to remove the barriers between people and information. Their flagship product, Capti Narrator, the screen-reading technology that revolutionizes the way people consume digital content will be demoed at CES2014, the world’s largest tradeshow for consumer technology to be held this week in Las Vegas.

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo joins the CEWIT2013 Conference on Long Island delivering a special presentation launch on the newly established economic development initiative, Start-Up NY. Accompanying his team is Long Island Association President & CEO, Kevin Law, speaking on the program’s benefits for Long Island.

August 6, 2013 - Seminar: Grow Your Business with Stony Brook University Interns
The informational seminar, held at the CEWIT Incubator, instructed company executives on the benefits of hiring student interns this fall and the outlets in which to successfully do so. Small businesses and established companies alike learned how to operate the University-based job listing/recruiting system, skills sets for developing internship programs, opportunities for connecting with students through special events, and understanding of the internship process at large. Hosted by Stony Brook University’s Career Center, the seminars focus on strengthening the relationship between industry and academia here at CEWIT and the University.
