Middle School Math Program - 8th Grade

 

Dates: July 13-16, 2026
Registration Deadline: First come, first serve
Fee: $400 (non-refundable) -payment must be made upon submission of registration
Eligibility: For students entering 8th grade in September 2026. 
Time: Monday - Thursday;  9:00am - 1:00pm

The Pre-Algebra program is designed for students entering 8th grade. Over the course of this four day program, the following concepts will be covered:  
 
Day 1: Language of Algebra
  • Number Systems
  • Fractions and Rounding
  • Order of Operations
 
Day 2: Introduction to Variables
  • Simplifying Expressions
  • Rules of Exponents
  • Proportions
 
Day 3: Solving Basic Equations
  • One step to Multi-step Equations
  • Distribution with Exponents
  • Inequalities
 
Day 4: Coordinate Plane Graphing
  • Graphing a Linear and Quadratic Equations
  • Calculator use
  • Pythagorean Theorem
 
These topics are key components to any Pre-Algebra curriculum.  Students will exit the program with a deeper understanding of these core concepts, and enter secondary education prepared for what is to come as they begin their high school careers.
