Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Field Education

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in Social Work, 8 years of experience in training or supervision of students and social work staff, at least 3 years of of experience in field education and/or teaching at the Master's level.  LMSW in the state of New York or its equivalent.  Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.  Experience working with a diverse student population and a broad array of human service organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in social work or a related field, record of prior administrative experience at a University.  Completion of seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) or equivalent.  Applicants with demonstrated expertise in integrated physical and mental health with families and children, and experience working with underrepresented populations and interdisciplinary environments are especially urged to apply.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Designs, coordinates, implements, evaluates, and administers all internships at the bachelor's and master's level for the School of Social Welfare, which are required by our accrediting body.  The Director is responsible for the administrative oversight of Field Education, supervising faculty and staff, working with students and organizations to ensure the quantity quality of internships for students.  The director of Field Education oversees the Office of Field Education, including the recruitment, management and support of all placements, field instructors, and faculty liaisons; maintaining partnership agreements with field agencies; utilization and updating of field software to manage files for students and practicum sites; collaborates with the Field Advisory Committee; integration of field education with other components of the BSW and MSW criteria and evaluation of students according to CSWE standards for competency.

Special Notes

This is a non-tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.  Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
