Required Qualifications

PhD with history of prior or current research and published papers in high impact journals. History of Extramural Funding.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional experience/ proven performance involving evidence of research commitment and productivity. Prefer candidates who would qualify for academic rank of Associate Professor or above based upon record of accomplishments.

Responsibilities & Requirements

This is a key position with responsibility for participating in both basic and clinical research in the Department of Anesthesiology. He/she will also participate, often in a leading role, in the department activities that pertain to undergraduate, graduate and post graduate education. As active role in clinical and/or basic research with be strongly encouraged. As a member of the executive staff, the candidate will be expected to play an important role in the administrative aspects pertaining to the initiation of grant support, design of research projects and organizational aspects related to the education goals of the entire department.

Tenure/Non-Tenure Track. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Eligibility for tenure will be based upon applicants' qualifications and experience. To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure). Anticipated start date: As soon as possible.
