Responsibilities & Requirements The Department (http://www.mgm.stonybrook.edu/index.shtml) and the adjacent Center
for Infectious Diseases (http://www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/cid/) provide a highly
interactive scientific community. The Department and School of Medicine have been
at the forefront of research on tick-borne diseases, including pivotal contributions
toward discovery and characterization of the Lyme disease agent. The position offers
competitive startup support and salary, quality research space, and a dynamic intellectual
environment. Stony Brook University maintains state-of-the-art core facilities that
deliver support in a number of areas including microscopy and animal imaging, flow
cytometry and cell sorting, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, bioinformatics,
animal maintenance, and BSL3 containment. The recently completed Laboratory for Comparative
Medicine includes an insectarium and provides facilities for animal BSL3 studies.
Special Notes This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: Summer 2019.
