Assistant / Associate Professor (Tenure Track)
Required Qualifications
- Earned Doctorate in social work or a related field.
- Masters in social work or a related field.
- Commitment to an interdisciplinary academic environment.
- Must be able to teach in at least one of the priority areas (social determinants of
health, gerontology, social work practice, family and children, race, poverty, and
inclusion).
- Applicants at the Assistant Professor level must also have a beginning record of research
using qualitative and quantitative methods, and a beginning record of scholarly publications.
- Applicants at the Associate Professor level must have a robust and consistent record
of scholarly publications based on research findings and a track record of grant submission.
Preferred Qualifications
- MSW degree.
- Minimum of two years of post-masters social work practice experience.
- Two years of teaching experience at the college level.
- Record of funded research.
- Expertise in more than one priority area.
- Applicants with demonstrated experience in gerontology of social work, family and
children, and populations impacted by social determinants of health are especially
encouraged to apply.
- We are particularly interested in applicants with a commitment to work in an interdisciplinary
academic environment and those with strong scholarly records in the areas of aging,
health and health care, family and children services, along with social justice perspective
on issues of race, poverty and inclusion.
Responsibilities & Requirements
To include teaching social welfare students at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
Participate in faculty governance activities. Conduct research for scholarly publications.
Teach in certain curriculum priority areas including: gerontological social work,
children and families, and/or populations impacted by social determinants of health.
Special Notes
This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
