Lecturer
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree or PhD. Minimum of one year experience in teaching writing at the
college level.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Rhetoric/Composition with experience in teaching first year writing. Interest
in writing in industry/corporate environments, grant writing, science communication,
health communication, or copy editing.
Responsibilities & Requirements
This full-time lecturer in the Program in Writing and Rhetoric will exhibit a commitment
to innovative teaching methods and practices, and engage with professional development
activities in writing pedagogy. Teaching duties will primarily be in first-year writing.
3/3 teaching load; one year (ten month) renewable contract. Duties will also include
mentoring students and actively contributing to Program initiatives. This individual
will be dedicated to undergraduate education and to serving the university community.
Special Notes
This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: Spring 2019.
