Assistant Professor

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in language or literature.
  • Research specialty in the medieval and post-medieval world.
  • Evidence of fluency in Modern Greek.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in teaching the Modern Greek language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recipient of fellowships.
  • Evidence of publications in journals and/or essay collections.
  • Evidence of organizing talks and/or lecture series.
  • Experience teaching graduate courses.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities will consist of research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, supervision of B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. theses, and supervision of existing minor in Hellenic studies.  The faculty member recruited will be expected to interact with the Center in Hellenic Studies and other institutions on campus and beyond.

Special Notes

This is a tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.  Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2018.
