CIV 340 – Civil Engineering Materials Laboratory

Current Catalog Description

Laboratory experiments that illustrate the basic analysis and behavior of civil engineering materials and structures. Mechanical loading and analysis of steel, wood, and concrete; quality control tests and field testing; testing of concrete structures. Lab report writing and measurement analysis and error propagation theory. Lectures will cover basic theory and application of civil materials.

Conduct laboratory testing of wood, steel, asphalt and concrete to develop a working knowledge of commonly used materials in civil engineering applications. ABET Student Outcome: 1, 2, 6
