Mr. Rajan Luthra heads Special Projects in the Chairman’s Office at Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) - India’s largest enterprise. He has acquired proficiency in leading impactful technology, innovation, risk management, and public policy initiatives over three decades. He has been engaged in Reliance’s hydrocarbon, retail and digital services businesses during start-up and scale-up phases. He currently leads a core digital platform team and is driving the design and execution of path-breaking Integrated Operations Centres. As a technocrat, he was a key member of entrepreneurial teams in auto-ID, packaged software, and electronic security ventures. He has been among the earliest adopters of transformative fourth industrial revolution technologies including IoT, biometrics, drones, AI, and computer vision and has deep connects with global innovation ecosystems. Rajan represents RIL on the Investment Committee at the leading incubator for frontier-technologies in Israel where he has led investments in more than a dozen start-ups. He is a Director on the Board of Videonetics Technology - India’s #1 visual computing company. Having previously spear-headed Reliance Aerospace Technologies, he was instrumental in RIL’s strategic investment in Asteria Aerospace, a drone-based aerial intelligence start-up. He is a member of FICCI’s National Executive Council and chairs FICCI’s national Committee on Drones. He is a Member Trustee at Observer Research Foundation, a leading global policy think-tank and is an Honorary Practice Fellow at Imperial College London’s Institute for Security Science and Technology.
