The Stony Brook University Incubator Showcase is a  joint effort by the Centers of Excellence, Centers for Advanced Technology, and Business Incubators to showcase our innovative member entrepreneurs  —  June 8, 2017, 9:00am - 1:00pm. 

The Incubator Showcase will feature over 40 company exhibits and displays at the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) in Stony Brook University's Research and Development Park, providing ample time for valuable networking and one-on-one conversations with our scope of biotechnology, energy and information technology companies.

CEWIT2017 Conference, November 7 & 8, 2017, Melville Marriott Long Island, Melville, New York
Co-sponsored by IEEE and Stony Brook University, the CEWIT2017 Conference will continue its tradition of providing the premier international forum for presentations of original research results as well as the exchange and transfer of innovative applications of emerging technologies in infrastructure, healthcare, and energy - three of the most critical components of a smarter global environment. This year’s conference will feature multiple parallel sessions on major vanguard themes including the Internet of Things; Cybersecurity; Big Data Analytics and Visualization; Health Technologies and Medical Devices; Smart Energy; Smart Urban Systems; and Information Technology and Society, with a focus on the concept of the Internet of Everything as a means to drive the intellectual discussion and to explore new capabilities, richer experiences, and unprecedented economic opportunities that exemplify the qualities of a smarter global environment.

With more than 175 participating private and public organizations and over 500 attendees, CEWIT2017 is a destination for researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, across borders and disciplines, to exchange ideas, build valuable partnerships and bring cutting-edge technology to the marketplace.

In partnership with the Center for Biotechnology and Henry Schein, Inc., CEWIT will present a symposium on cutting-edge developments in health and medical technologies and the institutional collaborations that are propelling the region's innovation economy —  The Medical Technologies and Healthcare Innovations Symposium, March 28, 2017, 9:30am - 4:00pm. 
Hack@CEWIT: IoT & Microservices, February 17-19, 2017, CEWIT
The Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT)’s will be hosting its inaugural region-wide, interdisciplinary student hackathon,  Hack@CEWIT , focusing on industry-relevant internet of things (IoT) and microservices challenges to advance enterprising, student-powered software solutions in the Center’s 100,000 s.f., next-generation research and education facility at Stony Brook University.

The 43-hour hack over President’s Day Weekend, February 17-19, 2017 will feature an interactive speaker series, hands-on, deep-dive workshops, industry hacker guru program, games, multimedia experiences, and opportunities for recruitment with top industry prizes for the most intuitive, most learning (0-100), most original, and most ambitious IoT hacks in the areas of IoT Productivity, Smart Home, Health and Fitness, Dev Board, Gaming, VR, Visual Arts, and Voice.

As strengthening the technology and engineering workforce pipeline is an integral component of CEWIT’s three-fold mission, Hack@CEWIT will bridge university brainpower with regional industry priorities, investigating innovative, next-generation solutions while advancing tech literacy and fostering new enterprise development.

Hack@CEWIT is designed in conjunction with our core industry partners, sponsors, and member entrepreneurs to select scenarios that will have a direct, real-world application to their product portfolios. A lab-to-marketplace approach that is largely representative of CEWIT and one that provides a valuable educational resource for our students and regional business community.

CEWIT & Economic Development Symposium: Technology Entrepreneurship, November 2, 2016, CEWIT
Fostering new enterprise development and smarter business models — an integral part of the Office of Vice President for Economic Development's mission and commitment to accelerating the region's startup community. Our circle of noted business mentors, intellectual property professionals, and venture capital experts team up to tackle the challenges of starting, running and funding a new business and help entrepreneurs to navigate the playing field.

Stony Brook University Incubator Company Showcase, June 2, 2016, CEWIT
A joint effort by Stony Brook University's Centers of Excellence, Centers for Advanced Technology, Business Incubators and Development Centers, showcases one of the nation's most comprehensive suite of economic development programs and the technological innovations and entrepreneurial advances of the University's burgeoning community of member companies.

The Incubator Company Showcase will feature over 40 company exhibits and displays at the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) in Stony Brook University's Research and Development Park. Providing ample time for valuable networking and one-on-one conversations with our scope of biotechnology, energy and information technology companies, the Showcase will furthermore extend its activities to allow for individual company visits, as requested by attendees, to experience companies in their natural habitat.

The event will also commemorate both the graduation and homegrown success of Codagenix, Inc., as the biotechnology company scales up from its operation at the Long Island High Technology Incubator (LIHTI) to a new, more extensive headquarters at Farmingdale State’s Broad Hollow Bioscience Park, creating jobs and economic prosperity for the region. The company's success is a notable representation of what Stony Brook University is accomplishing on a large scale, for its member companies, researchers and entrepreneurs.
