Dr. Byrne focuses on emergent AI and student educational experiences. Her interdisciplinary graduate research on automated driving systems spanned technology policy, STS, science communication, and media studies; all relevant to understanding technological development and their intertwined cultural, social, and political impacts.  Dr. Byrne also co-leads Wearable Futures, an interdisciplinary VIP research team solving problems at the intersection of fashion, sustainability and engineering.
